Rock Climbing
Celler Bàrbara Forés presents an innovative wine tourism experience that combines the landscape heritage of Terra Alta with the sporting potential of rock climbing. The activity, called “Rock Climbing and Wine Tasting”, explores the connection between the mountains and the wines of the region, making the most of the limestone rock formations which, as they erode and reach the cultivated fields, give the area’s wines their distinctive characteristics.
This original experience allows participants to discover the landscape and terrain of Terra Alta, understanding how the mountains and ravines make way for the region’s different crops. At the same time, the activity offers the opportunity to experience this Mediterranean landscape from above.
In addition, Terra Alta is home to one of the lesser-known yet most interesting sport climbing areas in the Tarragona region, offering a unique opportunity to combine sport and wine in a spectacular landscape full of history.
To make this activity accessible to different types of visitors, Celler Bàrbara Forés has designed two options. The first is “Rock Climbing Introduction and Wine Tasting”, aimed at people who want to get started in sport climbing. The second is the “Climb Without Fear and Wine Tasting” course, designed for people who already practise this sport and want to overcome their fear of heights through advanced climbing techniques.
Both experiences end with a tasting of three wines and extra virgin olive oil, completing an experience that combines sport, nature and wine tourism.
