👉🏼 Fancy a complete weekend getaway? Let’s go!
We’ll enjoy a wine tasting at the Vinyes del Convent winery and an extra virgin olive oil tasting at Identitat Olive Oil. You can also combine these experiences with a visit to the Picasso Museum or, if you’re more into sports, enjoy a section of the Greenway.
You can enjoy these experiences at your own pace, either all in one weekend or separately… you make the rules, we provide the ideas.
What does it involve?
The tour we propose takes you through the Terra Alta region through these experiences.
We can start by visiting Vinyes del Convent, a winery located in an area offering privileged views of the nearby village of Horta de Sant Joan and the Els Ports Natural Park. During the visit, you will discover the Gil family’s project. 🍷
You will be welcomed in the cloister before starting a guided tour of the exterior of the winery, followed by a visit inside, including the winemaking and ageing room. You will then stroll through the museum and finally enjoy a wine tasting according to the option you have chosen.
The second part of the tasting will take place at Identitat Olive Oil. We will discover how their organic single-variety olive oils are produced from Arbequina, Picual and Empeltre olives.
During the visit, you can walk through their spectacular estates featuring centuries-old olive trees. Afterwards, we will head to the historic centre of Horta de Sant Joan to visit the olive mill. Our host, Toni, will explain the olive oil production process in the old 13th-century family home.
You can also adopt an Empeltre olive tree and receive 12 half-litre bottles of organic extra virgin olive oil at the beginning of the year.
